Men in Uniform - Images from 40 years ago

It is now over 7 years since we last posted these pictures to JockSpank, and, although you can probably still find them if you hunt through the archives, I feel they are certainly worth bringing back to the top of the Blog for a second look

These images are over 40 years old. They come from Men in Uniform studio which which succeeded the iconic 1950's Royale Studio in Britain during the late 1960's and early 1970's.

Although gay sex between consenting males, over the age of 21, was legalised in 1968, Men in Uniform were still operating in a very oppressive environment both socially and legally. The world might have moved on from the repressive times when Royale was working, yet the creators of these images would still certainly have risked criminal prosecution for producing obscene material and corrupting public morals.

These are erotic, artistic and brave images, which, at the time they were made, would certainly have outraged at least 90% of the population and would have placed their creators at risk of a large fine, public disgrace, and a possible prison sentence.

  2. Wasn't the problem with 'Men in uniform' that they were photographing serving Servicemen, the same mistake made by Royale Studio? Thx for gr8t repost
